Zack Fanok is the 14-year-old that has Morgantown, W.Va., talking -- and listening.

A young fiddler with a style all his own, Zack has already started making a place for himself in state fiddle contests and winning the support and admiration of seasoned traditional musicians, from Dave Bing to the late fiddle master Glen Smith, to whom Zack's debut album was dedicated.

"When a tune grabs Zack, he grabs it back," says Chris Haddox. "That is where his true gift lies: his ability to take all these tunes and style, mix them up and come out with something that is all Zack Fanok."
