Remembering
Melvin Wine
With
you, we mourn the passing of the great Melvin Wine. The legendary
Braxton County, W.Va., fiddler -- recipient of the first Vandalia
Award in 1981 and winner of the National Heritage Fellowship --
died earlier this year of complications from a stroke at age 93.
We
have excerpts from a beautiful obituary written by Paul Gartner
in The Charleston Gazette. Click here to view
our Melvin Wine page.
