The Fiddletunes.com catalog covers the entire range of great Appalachian music, from remarkable field recordings of 25 years ago to the latest from the mountain stars of tomorrow.

Come here to find the classics by legends like Frank George, Wilson Douglas, Nat Reese, Lefty Shafer and Melvin Wine as well as the music of current standard bearers like Robin Kessinger, Jenny Allinder, Robert Shafer and Alan Freeman.

We also are the place to find the up and coming talents too, like 14-year-old fiddle phenom Zack Fanok, who already is learning from the best.

Remembering Melvin Wine

With you, we mourn the passing of the great Melvin Wine. The legendary Braxton County, W.Va., fiddler -- recipient of the first Vandalia Award in 1981 and winner of the National Heritage Fellowship -- died earlier this year of complications from a stroke at age 93.

We have excerpts from a beautiful obituary written by Paul Gartner in The Charleston Gazette. Click here to view our Melvin Wine page.
