Hot from the Kitchen
Wilson Douglas and Gruder Morris
These
are classic West Virginia field recordings collected in January
1973 by Tom Brown and originally suppled by the West Virginia and
Regional History Collection of the West Virginia University Libraries.
It's
as natural as it gets, the sound of two old friends creating music
in a familiar setting, with the focus on having a good time and
without trying to achieve that "slick" sound.
Heard
here with Clay County fiddler Wilson Douglas
is his uncle, the late Gruder Morris on guitar.
