Young Robert Shafer of Elkview, W.Va., has twice won the title of National Flatpicking Champion at the Walnut Valley Festival in Winfield, Kansas. He also has been state guitar champion of Kentucky, Ohio, Tennessee and Alabama.

Robin Kessinger's awards include the 1985 National Flatpick Championship at Winfield, Kansas; the 1989 and 1990 Galax, Va., best performer championship, and firsts in West Virginia, Ohio, Kentucky and Georgia.
