Swope's Knobs

Frank
George, born in Bluefield, W.Va., in 1928, first played a small
fiddle and banjo that his father made for him and that his grandfather
taught him.
He's
come a long way. He has appeared at the Smithsonian and was included
in a PBS documentary on traditional music.He has played his music
from the hills of Appalachia to the villages of Europe, from the
Greenbrier Resort Hotel to the hillside dance halls of the mountains.
This
album was originally released in 1977 and features Frank on fiddle,
banjo, hammered dulcimer and thigh-slapping, John Hilt on fiddle
and vocals, Pat Dunford on banjo, guitar and vocals and John Summers
on fiddle.
